I have been working with both open source and ESRI’s GIS (Geographic Information Systems) since 2009 and find the realm to be one of the most exciting areas to be involved in; perhaps that’s because I have always been curious about the world and about mapping. By my mid-teens, I used to own several rather large atlases including a quite pricey Reader’s Digest World Atlas.
